3DJAKE ASA black 1.75 mm, 1 kg: outdoor filament

ASA is the filament to reach for when a part will live outdoors: it stands up to sunlight and weather far better than PLA, which softens and breaks down, and it yellows less than ABS. It prints much like ABS, with a hot nozzle and a hot bed, and like ABS it tends to warp and split between layers in a draught. This is the black version from 3DJAKE, the house brand of the European shop 3DJake, in 1.75 mm and 1 kg.

  • Black ASA (RAL 9017), 1.75 mm, on a 1 kg spool.
  • 3DJake gives 210–250 °C at the nozzle and 60–100 °C on the bed, so your printer has to reach those temperatures.
  • An enclosed printer, or at least a spot with no draughts, considerably reduces lifted corners and cracks between layers.
  • It smells while printing: use a ventilated room and keep it out of bedrooms.
  • Suitable for the Bambu Lab AMS according to 3DJake, which adds a note (asterisk) worth reading.

How to choose the right one

Choose ASA when the part will sit in the sun or outside; if you only need something tougher than PLA indoors, PETG is easier to print. Make sure your printer takes 1.75 mm, since the page also lists 2.85 mm.

How we choose products

usi3d shows products from other shops for their compatibility with your printer, because they help with a fault, because they ship to Spain and because the shop is trustworthy. The commission does not decide what we show or in what order.
