eSUN PLA-Silk gold 1.75 mm, 1 kg: silk PLA
eSUN PLA-Silk is a PLA with a silky finish: it comes out glossy with a metallic sheen, gold in this case, and hides layer lines quite well. It's a filament for figures, vases, gifts and display pieces rather than functional parts. It prints like ordinary PLA but likes slower speeds and a temperature well inside its range.
- Gold (brass-toned) silk PLA, 1.75 mm, 1 kg of filament.
- Listed temperatures: 190–230 °C at the nozzle and 45–60 °C on the bed.
- The shop sells it on a spool or as a refill without a reel; a refill needs a reusable spool.
- If it comes out dull, add a little heat and take off some speed; if layers split easily, raise the temperature within the range.
- Silk prints tend to be weaker between layers than standard PLA, so keep it for decorative pieces rather than parts that carry loads.
