Save filament with AI
Open your model and tell us what it is for: we show how much filament it uses with the standard profile and with the tricks that suit it (infill, walls, supports, orientation, vase mode, colour flushing), with their effect on strength and time. Download it with the settings already in place.
Your model and what it is for
STL, 3MF, GLB or OBJ, or one of the website's samples (a bull, a vase, a cable winder and a gear, each with its licence). Done in your browser: the file is not uploaded and uses no credits.
You choose what it is for (decorative, vase or lampshade, test print, functional, load-bearing or outdoors), your printer, the material and what a kilo costs you.
The tricks, with their sources
- Lightning infill for things that are only looked at: it holds up the tops and uses almost nothing.
- Adaptive cubic for functional parts: dense next to the walls and sparse in the middle.
- More walls and less infill for load-bearing parts: strength lies mostly in the walls.
- Tree supports and the orientation that needs the least support, marking on the part what needs it.
- Vase mode when the shape allows it: one spiral wall, no top and no infill.
- Thicker layers for a test print, scaling and, with several colours, flushing into the part.
Ask the AI
The AI only receives the part's numbers (size, volume, overhangs) and your choices, never the file, and reasons a profile. This page works out its grams with the same estimator. It is free with your account, with a daily limit of questions.
How we work it out
From the mesh come the volume, the surface and which way each face points: walls, tops, bottoms, infill by pattern and supports under overhangs. We checked it by slicing five shapes and four sample models with 62 profiles in Bambu Studio: the part comes within 1.3 % of the slicer on average (6 % in the worst case), tree supports within ±15 % and normal ones within ±35 %, and time within 8 % on average. It is an estimate: always check the slice preview.
The download
A 3MF for Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer, or one for PrusaSlicer, with the part in its orientation and the settings on the object itself: your printer, your filament and the rest of your profile stay as they are.
More on usi3d
- 3D print cost calculator: Open an STL in your browser and estimate filament, electricity, machine time and labor with your own figures.
- Repair an STL model and improve its finish: Repair your STL, GLB or 3MF in the browser: close planar holes, fix face orientation and smooth out the noise and steps of AI-made models.
- Split into parts: Upload your STL, 3MF or GLB, pick your printer and split it into parts that fit its bed, with numbered dowels that fit together.
- Colors and filament: Paint your STL or GLB with real filament colours, check materials and export your project as GLB or 3MF, in your browser.
