Creality CR Touch auto bed levelling sensor
The CR Touch is Creality's automatic levelling sensor: before printing it touches the bed at a grid of points and the printer adjusts the height on the fly to follow its dips and bumps (the mesh). It's a popular upgrade for the Ender 3, Ender 3 Pro and Ender 3 V2, which are levelled by hand out of the box. It doesn't replace a decent basic levelling, though, nor can it make up for a bed that moves.
- Contact-type automatic levelling sensor, 0.04 mm accuracy according to Creality; part number 4001010026.
- For the Creality Ender 3, Ender 3 Pro and Ender 3 V2; the shop also lists the Ender 3 Max, Ender 5 Pro and CR-10.
- It needs the CR Touch firmware Creality publishes for your model and mainboard; without it, the printer won't use the sensor.
- After installing it you have to set the Z offset: that's what decides whether the first layer ends up too high or squashed.
- If the sensor fails during homing, check the cable and that the pin drops and retracts without catching.
