The K2, K2 Pro or K2 Plus will not connect to Wi-Fi, sees no networks or keeps disconnecting

Guide based on the manufacturer's official documentation; usi3d has not yet verified it on a machine.

Technology: FDM · Brand: Creality · Symptoms: Does not connect to Wi-Fi or the app · Updated on 9 October 2026

Symptom

The K2 series printer finds no Wi-Fi networks, sees networks but cannot connect even with the right password, or connects with a weak signal and drops out often.

Likely causes, from most to least likely

  1. The network is 5 GHz and your model does not support it: according to Creality, only the K2 Plus works on both 2.4 and 5 GHz; the K2 and K2 Pro only on 2.4 GHz.
  2. The internal Wi-Fi antenna has come loose: weak signal, difficult connection or frequent drops.
  3. The router has blacklisted the printer, has frozen after running for a long time, or has reached its maximum number of connected devices.
  4. IP conflict: after a long time disconnected, another device uses the printer's previous IP; or the router requires a fixed IP.
  5. A faulty Wi-Fi module.

Checks to tell which one it is

  • Turn on networking on the printer and see whether any Wi-Fi network appears.
  • If none appear, create a hotspot on your phone (usually 2.4 GHz by default): this rules out a 5 GHz or hidden network.
  • If it detects networks but with a weak signal or drops, suspect the antenna.
  • If the signal is good and the password correct, the problem is usually the router.

Before you start

Before taking anything apart, cleaning or adjusting it, switch the printer off and unplug it, unless a step says otherwise, and do not touch the nozzle, the heater block or the bed until they have cooled down. If in any doubt about electricity, heat or moving parts, stop and ask a professional.

Step-by-step fix

  1. Use 2.4 GHz on the K2 and K2 Pro

Connect the K2 or K2 Pro to a 2.4 GHz network (if the router uses one name for both bands, split them). Test first with a phone hotspot to confirm the printer connects.

Check: The printer connects and shows its IP.

If that does not fix it: If it does not even detect the phone hotspot, go to the next step.

  2. If it detects no networks at all

If the phone hotspot does not appear either, the Wi-Fi module has most likely failed: contact Creality support to replace the corresponding board.

Check: With the new module, the printer sees networks.

If that does not fix it: Contact Creality support again.

  3. Reattach the antenna

If it sees networks but with a weak signal or drops often, the internal antenna may have come off. Creality describes opening the printer's display to stick it back; do it with the printer switched off and unplugged.

Check: The signal improves and the connection no longer drops.

If that does not fix it: Check the router (next step).

  4. Check the router and fix the IP

Remove the printer from the blacklist if it is there, restart the router, disconnect unused devices if it is at its limit and, if the IP is taken, assign another one. If your router requires it, fix the IP by binding it to the printer's MAC address (shown under Settings → About the machine), as Creality's static IP guide explains.

Check: The printer connects with the right password and stays connected.

If that does not fix it: Contact Creality support through the online help on its wiki.

Prevention

  • Keep the printer near the router and always connect the K2 and K2 Pro to 2.4 GHz.
  • Restart the router if it tends to freeze after long running times.
  • If the printer always stays on the same network, fix its IP in the router.
